Freedom

I had it all when I had nothing

The marketing dept. wants you to be better off
That from their last meeting

The American dream available at a store near you
The price of freedom is only $999 for this five piece living room set

They’re called possessions because they do

Defined by what you do
what you make
and where you spend it

Less is more
More is less
Meet Les Moore

I had it all when I had nothing

Extended Forecast

They don’t notice rain
in London or Seattle

Or sun in LA
or the beaches

I don’t notice
the pounding in my head
or the knot in my stomach

Like sun through clouds
or rain at the beach
I notice

Work Smarter

I look forward to depression
it’s relaxing
compared to anxiety

Instead of worry and stress
I can just be sad

Emotionally
it’s much easier

One Owner

Turns out I may not be nuts
Just Broke
Which can drive you nuts
So maybe I am

Broke implies there might be a fix
I’ll never be factory mint
but maybe I can get you to the grocery store
and church on Sunday

That’s me
High mileage
Few Dents
Decent engine
Electrical is shot

Send in the Clones

There’s not enough of me to go around
Like a birthday cake that’s too small
everybody wants a slice

You can try cutting smaller slices
but that leaves no one satisfied

Send in the clones

Someone to work
the driven type A
busting his ass
making the big bucks
getting ahead

Another the always attentive
understanding father
as well as the virile
vigorous
romantic husband

One more
The quiet
melancholy bookworm
in a dimly lit room
blowing smoke rings at the ceiling

A piece of me for everyone

101. Office Space- Come on. Anyone over the age of 25 with a job can quote this.
102. Clerks. Shut up. It’s my list.
103. Say Anything. Okay, who hasn’t referenced this movie at some point? The first time I saw it I walked out of the theater when it was over, went to the box office and bought a ticket for the next showing.

Three movies I would remove from the list are:
94. Goodfellas. Don’t think the movie holds up over time
58. FANTASIA. Not a Disney fan.
85. Duck Soup. Marx brothers, pass.

Shaken and Stiring

Explode
Erupt
Burst

I’m a time bomb
a volcano
a shaken can of Coke

I remove myself
Go off in an isolated area
Not hurt anyone

Shrapnel
Lava
Soda
Flying
Shooting
Spraying
Everywhere

Up to my neck
and up to my knees
Cut
Burned
and sticky

Good Neighborhood,Close to Schools

Deluxe accommodations
A padded room
No jacket required
I want to be here Phil

Three balanced squares a day
A little cup of pills for breakfast
one for lunch
and another before bed

There’s even field trips
Bowling tonight
The devil’s daughter is going

I’m staying in to catch up on some reading

Drink Plenty of Water…

I feed my mind better than my body
If I took as much care from the neck down
as I do the neck up
I’d be minus the extra L. B. S.

I would never put the things in my head
that I put in my mouth

I watch what goes in
Try to keep it healthy
Little junk
Now and then

Exercise everyday
Stretch
Do some heavy lifting
Build the muscle
Keep it in shape

You only have one mind
I don’t want mine to get fat and lazy

Directed by Frank Capra

I think about it more than I admit

Logically
it makes sense

Perhaps not rational
Perhaps extreme
But sometimes the only way to get a clean slate
is to get a clean slate

It’s a George Bailey life
No bells will ring
No wings given out
